Abstracts due: September 10th, 2015

In order to promote international academic exchange in the field of ecocriticism, The Center for Gary Snyder Studies at Hunan University invites worldwide scholars to participate in the “International Symposium on Ecopoetics, Ekphrasis and Gary Snyder Studies” from November 12 to 15, 2015 in Changsha, China. The symposium aims to expand the study of the interconnectedness between literature, ecology and culture, and to explore the latest trends and to share academic information on ecocritical and ekphrastic studies. Special attention will be paid to Gary Snyder, Deep Ecology Poet Laureate, and his engagement to Asian Culture. It is hoped that the symposium will provide a space for ecocritics to present and discuss their current research in full conference panels and in dialogue with researchers in a highly-stimulating and collaborative environment.
